My Take

This really did not aid in my teaching of a skill, but it encourage the students to stay on task and motivated to earn a reward. If I taught Science, it might be put to better use. Other than that, it is just a good way to get the students thinking and excited about the day to come.

How I Use It

I have a ticket system where students can choose a variety of items if their name is pulled. This was one of the choices to "play" in their free time. It became popular very quickly. Students love the competition factor and always wanted to outscore their friends. It became a motivator to be given more tickets, which is the point! I also used it to keep some of my students on task and motivated to pay attention throughout a subject. I would allow them to play this as a reward. I also showed it to our Science teacher and he used it as a way to introduce the Stroop effect.
