Community Review for Trello
My Take
This is one tool that I think is equally effective across platforms, from tablets desktops. The user interface and drag-and-drop features make it engaging for students with minimal distractions. Similar to Padlet, Trello offers educators a relatively quick and painless way for students to share their ideas and knowledge with their peers.
How I Use It
I have and would continue to use this during project-based learning units as a planning and research tool. In order to keep things simple, I would create one board for each unit and groups/individuals could make their own lists within the board. In my classroom, Trello was used as a way to share notes about a topic, but I think it would have improved student learning and engagement during the planning portion of team projects even more. With my second graders, I had kids log into the iPad app with our class Gmail rather than create separate accounts for each student to cut down transition time.
