My Take
Tellagami is a great app that allows you to create and share a quick animated Gami video. Create a Gami to help launch a lesson or use it as a creative, fun way for students to demonstrate their knowledge in 90 seconds or less. The time constraints help students learn to be precise. ...I wouldn't use Tellagami for every project, but sure like the option of having this app available for students to choose from.
How I Use It
Dive into this app, even if your grade level is below 5th grade. My fourth grade students are super motivated to demonstrate learning when using this app. It reinforces knowledge learned and has a fabulous voice recording feature, so students are working on their oral languages skills. Even students who don't produce work on a regular basis have been known to create a Gami. It is so exciting to hear a student's voice sharing what they learned when they normally don't speak in class. ...Get started by setting time limits for students to create their character. Next, set parameters on what you want students record. Finally, celebrate learning by posting products in your learning management system or share out in class via small groups or through Air Sharing through Apple TV or the Reflector app on your computer.
