Community Review for Teaching Channel
My Take
As educators, we can fall into the same routines. That can be boring for us and our students. One brain-based strategy that can help is to add some novelty to the learning environment. Teaching channel is great for finding new ways to assess students, differentiate instruction, and create meaningful group activities. Not to mention, it is ideal for growing and developing as an educator. This website best serves kids because it inspires and empowers their teachers. When teachers are able to teach better and use best practices their students learn more and enjoy the process.
How I Use It
Whenever I am looking for a great new strategy to introduce to teachers, I will turn to Teaching Channel. I am able to find strategies for differentiating instruction, integrate technology, and better support teachers as a Digital Learning Coach. I suggest teachers examine their current practices and determine which area of their teaching practice they would like to improve. Then, find a video on Teaching Channel that covers that topic or provides strategies for that area. Implement the strategy, reflect on the strategy, and make it your own. As a result, this is not a tool to be used with students, but moreover a tool to improve a teacher's professional practice.
