A tool that helps you improve the language learning experience through stories
Community Review for Sutori
My Take
All in all, I thoroughly recommend Sutori if you're a teacher who's always looking for ways to present, organise, and have students work collaboratively in an innovative way. With minimal preparation you can create a project and show students how to work together using this platform , or you could create a self-paced lesson for homework or a self-access course.
How I Use It
I teach EFL for young adults and adults. I'm convinced that learning happens as a byproduct of a great experience, which means that it becomes the vehicle to achieving students' needs. Because of this, I've tried to transform my clases into "stories" to create motivation and engagement.
This is when Sutori comes in. It's a tool that helps you set all the steps that a good story has. It allows you to present almost any content in an innovative way, which is way more interesting for students than using a slideshow. Because of this, it's perfect to create lessons that are self-pace, and it provides a way to leave feedback in any stage of the process.
What makes it appealing is that we interact with different types of media everyday, and Sutori is prepared for that. In this way, most students find it natural to use and get acquainted with most of its features easily.
The only thing I would like Sutori to have is better mobile compatibility. I've used this tool with a class and asked my students to work from their computers because the experience is optimised for these equipments. Maybe Sutori development will address it in future because sometimes we can't control how our students consume content.
