My Take

My Spelling Test is a bare bones app that provides users with a practice spelling test.

A spelling list is entered, along with the pronunciation, and then users can take a test over those words.

Immediate feedback is given as you spell each word.

This app would be great for spelling practice and you could even do actual spelling tests using the app.

There is no chance for fixing a mistake once you have entered your word in the test, however, so kids couldn't go back and proofread before submitting.

Once they finish the test, there is a feature that can email the results so teachers could then have a report of how each student has done.

How I Use It

This app would work as an excellent literacy center.

The drawback I see is that you would need to enter every word and pronunciation to create a spelling test each instance (for example, if you had multiple devices in your classroom, you would need to enter that list on each device).

For many kids, they could enter the words and pronunciations themselves for additional practice to create their own tests.

Having a way to share lists between devices would be nice, or even a bank of lists to choose from would be helpful for the app to better serve teachers.
