Great way to gauge the students' understanding of a topic.

My Take

Socrative is pretty easy to use and doesn't take a whole lot of time to set up. It allows students to access it from mobile devices, but I have not explored that feature yet. It works best in a 1:1 computer environment. I like the beta 2.0 version better, but it isn't ready for general release yet. After the students finish a quiz/assignment, the teacher can download a report or have the report e-mailed.

How I Use It

1. I use it for daily quizzes.
2. I use it for "exit tickets" after a lesson.
3. I use it to check for understanding during a lesson. A clicker type of system would work better, but I don't have access to clickers at this time.
4. I use it to have students write about a topic in science. A student can write about the prompt and I can do a quick check on whether or not the student has grasped the concept.
