My Take

I like Quizlet for posting vocabulary lists, reviewing the terms with the class as a whole group, and allowing them to practice/review the terms using whatever tools the students choose (individually). I would then use Quizlet Live to let students play with their working knowledge of the terms. If students needed more review individually, they can access the Quizlet set anytime online, so it is ideal for homework and extra practice. Quizlet should not be the only tool in your vocab teaching arsenal, however; it's great for memorization and reinforcement of terms and definitions, but other means of vocabulary instruction should be paired to give students a full understanding.

How I Use It

I used Quizlet in my high school English classes to review new vocabulary terms. Quizlet is great for uploading vocabulary lists, adding pictures next to terms/definitions, and for having interactive games. The audio components (read aloud options) and varied question types also make this a good tool to use with special needs populations. Quizlet Live is a good interactive and collaborative element to use when reinforcing the vocab terms. One area where Quizlet lacks is that there is no feature where students could use vocab terms correctly in a sentence or add synonyms/antonyms to expand their understanding of terms.
