My Take

Quizlet is wonderful.The ability to hear the terms using the Speller feature improves pronunciation along with spelling. The games allow students to practice AND have fun at the same time. The variety of features allows my students to study in the ways that work best for them. The "Add Images" feature (available with an upgraded account) allows for visual learners to get an extra layer of engagement. The upgrade is reasonably priced and well worth it.

How I Use It

I use Quizlet for vocabulary practice and review. My students really enjoy the Space Race and Scatter features. After they have used Quizlet to learn the terms, they love competing against their classmates. In addition the Test feature helps them prepare for our weekly vocabulary & spelling tests. Success in the Test feature of Quizlet usually translates into a good grade on the tests I give in class.

Life saver

Quizlet is a great way to prepare and study for a test. Personally, I have used it many times in preparation for an exam and it has never let me down. I will say that Quizlet is most helpful when you have to memorize; their flashcards make it easy to go through material fast. It's a bit disappointing you know have to pay for certain features that used to be free, which is why my review is not a full 5 stars. But Quizlet certainly has been there for me during exam season.

makes flashcards way more engaging

Quizlet is a great resource as a teaching tool because it allows students to become more engaged in the learning process because it is more interactive than traditional flashcards. Additionally, students can choose which type of review activity works best for them which helps set them up for success. There is also an option to start a live review game for the entire class which creates competition and reinforces the key terms.
