My Take

I really like that I have control over assigning work after their diagnostic test. The times when they have to combine three simple sentences to make more compound and clear sentences are excellent. After my sophomores tested, Quill prompted me to consider teaching whole group on three different topics. I haven't tackled that yet, but it's on my list. I highly recommend trying this free tool to get started, but I am going to purchase the advanced tool for $80.00 and start going a little deeper.

How I Use It

I started using Quill.org with my 1st-semester college Composition students. They really liked it, so I added my ACT Prep students when we were focusing on the English test. Then, after reading my first round of sophomore rough draft arguments, I added it to my four sophomore classes. When the 10th graders have a few minutes, they almost always ask if they can do some Quill.
With my college students, I used the intermediate diagnostic and then let it assign lessons based on their skill needs. With my ACT Prep, I used the advanced diagnostic, and with my sophomores, I used the basic diagnostic tool.
