Prodigy- bringing the joy back to math
Community Review for Prodigy Math
My Take
I love everything about Prodigy. I can assign individual, small group or whole group assignments. It breaks down how each student did, including showing me the exact question they missed. It offers alerts when students are struggling with an assignment or standard. The only area that I can critique is the questions asked may not be 100% aligned to the standards (the questions may be asked in a different way or may be harder than what is asked under your state standards).
How I Use It
I use it in class to review, reteach and extend material. I've also used it as an assessment, to gather data. I use this daily during math stations. We use it as an incentive, including hosting competitions between students, between classes and across the school. Students are VERY excited and eager to use it. They also love how clicking on the lightbulb shows the how to do the problem, without giving them the answer. I love that my ELL and low literacy students can click the speaker icon and have the problems read to them. When I taught a state tested grade level (5th grade) I loved using Prodigy's test prep assignments. It was an easy, fun and engaging way for students to review before the state test.
