My Take

I love that students play Prodigy when it isn't assigned. There is so much excitement around math in my classroom. Students play because they enjoy the game and as they do, they become more confident mathematicians. They get excited to solve new problems rather than intimidated by them. It has been one of my most useful tools.

How I Use It

I use Prodigy in so many ways. At minimum it is a great and engaging way to get students to practice when you align to skills or standards. You can also have students work at their own pace. Use Prodigy to introduce new materials. I have used it as a station when doing rotations. It can be individualized to students to help them build pre-requisite skills.
