My Take
I absolutely love this program. I recommended it to my team, since it gets kids that are quarantined or have chronic absences involved in learning on their own because it is a free video game that compares them to their friends. It celebrates effort and growth rather than just achievement so my middle kids or low ones can win prizes over my high math thinkers for their effort. It is also easy to use.
How I Use It
I use this as an early-finisher. I assign standards that align with what we are looking for to give students extra practice and exposure, and I give prizes to students to reach the leaderboard every Thursday.
It is highly engaging and students fight to get to use it. They love battling one another and I love that it is scaffolded. Students play at their own pace and level. Students play at home, and their math knowledge really grows.
My one complaint is how it is too hard for students below grade level. My very low students do not get much out of the program and I use other supplements for them.
