Great to keep kids practicing their math skills!
Community Review for Prodigy Math
My Take
I love Prodigy! I think it would be fantastic for elementary students to keep them practicing their basic math skills and having fun at the same time. I love that each question has a hint if you need it and the ability to draw or use digital manipulatives such as place value blocks. That is amazing for kids who just need a small push to figure out the problem. The ability to assign certain topics to students and monitor their progress is amazing because you can see how your class is doing without having to grade homework. Students are able to answer questions that use higher-order thinking skills such as analyzing or synthesizing alongside simpler ones seamlessly. This fits into the modification level of SAMR and gives the student instant feedback. Prodigy is fantastic!
How I Use It
Prodigy is great for students who have a mental block towards math. The game style keeps kids learning, and they may not even realize it! I would use it to track students' progress with essential math skills, especially for students who avoid doing math homework. It is great for ELL or low literacy students because of the read-aloud functions.
