My Take

This game is highly motivating. I love how much I get from the game and for participating. It is worth the time.

How I Use It

In my classroom I use Prodigy for many things. The first way I use the game is for extended morning warm-up. I can have the students help me navigate my character through the game and solve several math problems. The students use dry erase on their desks and I show my progress through the game. Even better I allow a student to drive for me, so I can be on my feet and work with struggling students. I also use Prodigy for Math station time as one of my rotations. In this station there are quests the students need to complete and I align my lessons with the game. Because I use the exact lessons and prior units work we cover I can get real-time feedback about the students progress. I can also see specific TEK patterns pop up and pull that student for a small group. I use Prodigy for data, class assignments, retests for mastery, rewards, and for fun! On the last day on school all my students wanted to do on our half day was battle me in Prodigy! They could have gone outside, watched a movie, played other games but they WANT to work on math.
