My Take

As a first grade teacher, I liked that I could assign my high level kids higher standards and challenge them. I could also assign lower level standards to my struggling kids. Kids progress at their own levels and there are a variety of reports that I use to monitor their progress. Parents can also sign into their child's account. I used the data to form guided math groups, do standards based report cards, and differentiate for my kids.

How I Use It

I use Prodigy as part of my math stations. I assign the standard that we are working on so that kids can practice in a fun, engaging way. It is just like a video game, so kids love it! They can battle each other, work together to defeat the "Titan" and create an avatar with different styles. After an initial introduction, my first graders learned the ins and outs quickly and it became something they even played during free choice time.
