My Take
It is a very easy web 2.0 application to use, it is fun and user friendly. As a teaching tool it is great to address literacy and content presented in variety of formats, incorporating technology into your repertoire. Encourages students to create, collaborate and publish their work online, demonstrating what they have learned in your subject area.
How I Use It
I use Pixton to create comic strips that summarize every unit of study on my curriculum. Students read each comic strip and they answer comprehension questions about that comic strip. Then, students create their very own comic strip, demonstrating what they know at the end of every unit. Students can easily edit their comic strips, it is time consuming so I suggest to use this as an ongoing project for their final portfolio so that they can work on it throughout the year.
