My Take

Overall, I love this database. It has made teaching Research Skills much easier. Everything I want the students to know about researching a topic is included in PebbleGo. Students are successful in locating information and are fully engaged in the process. My only complaint is that PebbleGo doesn't include author names to each of the articles. This would be valuable for me when I am teaching giving credit to authors or places.

How I Use It

I use PebbleGo to teach research skills and digital citizenship to my K-2 Library Skills Class. The students learn to navigate a database to locate information and then learn the importance of giving credit to the person/place that gave them the information they sought. The organization of this database allows student to search first in categories and then narrow down into specific topics. Within each article, student can dig deeper into the topic by clicking on related articles and media. The read-a-loud feature is naturally read and allows access of the information for all my students. Although PebbleGo has multiple topics to choose from, some students get frustrated when they can't locate a specific topic and are forced to settle for another.
