I think the video section is a great tool to have so that teachers can see the teaching happening in the classroom and what it should look like. The standards are clearly outlined, as well as the objectives, literature suggestions, materials, lesson description, teacher tip section and extension ideas are well presented.

How I Use It

The "Educator Resource" tab takes you to a Classroom Activities page, where you can have a deeper look at student skill development through all kinds of activities - while playing with blocks, drawing shapes, or building a playhouse through trial and error. Use these activities as-is, or as jumping off points for your own lessons. Each activity makes use of everyday materials, so students can practice the same skills at home as in the classroom.

Great interactive games for multiple devices that engage learners and reinforce skills

PBS Kids Lab is a great teaching tool to help reinforce skills and concepts. Teachers can use this resource for whole group or small group instruction. Each game features a picture as well as a brief statement of how it works and what will be learned. This can be helpful to students as they decide whether or not to play the game if they are playing individually. Once you click Play, then a new page opens up which displays a separate URL for the game or a download button for apps. It may be challenging for some students to navigate back to the main PBS Kids Lab page unless the game is opened up in a new window. However the game link can be bookmarked or shared as needed.

Cute graphics, fun tunes, and repeats enough to reinforce basic skills.

It is very good for children who struggle or who are English Learners. It does repeat the same message over and over which is good for kids who need things repeated. The pictures are captivating and fun. The music is alluring.
