My Take
I was extremely happy with this resource. The ability to drop in pictures, videos, etc., lends itself to all sorts of uses (depending on your level of creativity). Students remain engaged throughout the process and see the work of other students, which can help spark them if they are struggling for examples. The only critique and word of caution that I would give is to make sure the students understand acceptable usage from your point of view. I did have a couple of students put up pictures that did not include nudity but were definitely a bit over the line. As a teacher, I love that there was the ability to remove the post, and also, there is a moderation feature that allows you (or the Padlet team) to review posts before they go up. Overall, a great product.
How I Use It
Used in a lesson on society for examples of assimilation, amalgamation, and acculturation. After reviewing the above concepts, students were directed to get in groups of two and to put three examples of each on the Padlet (including a picture, short 1-2 sentence blurb of how it represents the form of social change, and their name). Seeing these pop up on the screen as they worked helped to keep the students focused, provided them inspiration from other students posts, and was an overall awesome addition to the lesson.
