My Take

I feel Padlet is one of those essential apps and programs that all educator should utilize from time to time. The educator should take great pains at the start to front-load expectations to students - you have editing access as the creator of each Padlet, but that doesn't mean some students might use the tool inappropriately. For students, it's a great way for them to express their ideas (via text, images, video, etc.). For educators, it allows for identifying what all students know rather than the one's that raise their hands in class.

How I Use It

I've used this product as formative assessment, student-research tool (Individual and collaborative), and a peer-feedback forum. Students love that they can see others responding in real-time, they get a chance to review and edit their work as they are publishing. When used as a formative assessment the educator can use the tool to give immediate feedback in a positive manner. The ease of use makes this product one of my go-to in the classroom.
