My Take

By allowing for individual or small groups to make their own open ended comments, this tool very naturally differentiates. It also allows for real reflection and collaboration that typical class discussions or other online tools don't do as well. Other possible uses include class note taking or mind-mapping. Overall, I see this facilitating some really high-level thought.

How I Use It

In my school's high school English classes, the teachers start a board with a few though provoking images or quotes from the literature being examined. Students can then add their ideas and comment on the ideas of others. This activity has proven to be fairly easy to set up, highly engaging for the students, but most of all, it has allowed learners that normally wouldn't speak out to be part of a group discussion about deep ideas. This is a fantastic tool!
