My Take

I have enjoyed using this platform as a part of my teaching tool kit. With all the gamining students do, this is definately another way to capture engagement opportunities. I like the level of questioning and the simplicity of the gaming. I most defiately like that students are continually reviewing while playing after their assignments.

How I Use It

I create assignments based on objective/skill focus. Students are given time during the week to complete the game assignments. Upon completion many students continue with awakening (main game). What works is also playing with students and giving them leadup activities to help them be more successfull with questions and progress. Assigning too many acivites per assignment does not work.

Transforming My Classroom

Overall, I find Legends of Learning to be an exceptional teaching tool that significantly enhances student engagement and learning in my classes. The interactive games make learning fun and accessible, helping students grasp and retain key mathematical concepts with ease. The Spanish language features are also essential for my ELLs.

Based on my exploration of the Legends of Learning platform, I believe it has great potential as a teaching tool. However, one potential drawback is that the quality and educational value of the games may vary, as they are developed by different creators. Therefore, educators might need to spend time reviewing the games to ensure they align with their curriculum and teaching objectives. Additionally, while the platform is generally user-friendly, some students might need guidance on how to navigate it and use it effectively. Providing tutorials or guides for students could be beneficial. Despite these minor drawbacks, I believe Legends of Learning is a valuable resource for science education. Its game-based approach can enhance student engagement and learning, making it a worthwhile addition to any science classroom.

Great way to strengthen Science and Math knowledge if used correctly

Overall, I think this is a good resource tool for teachers to use to strengthen the science and math skills of their students. The games do lean more towards being more like a game and not so much a learning tool, but nonetheless if used in moderation is could be a good way for students to learn. The games are fun so it will keep the student engaged.
