My Take
This website provides personalized lessons and/or tasks for students to do and accomplish. Their performance is noted on the teacher's dashboard and you can see what they are working on while online. I can provide offline learning opportunities for the students to learn from and then they can go back and finish up that lesson successfully. I am so glad that I have added Lalilo as part of my learning plan for many of my students who are a couple grade levels below their peers or my students who are new to the country and are learning the English language.
How I Use It
I have been an EL teacher for over 27 years. There are limited resources for struggling readers who may be the intermediate grades. The children learn as they go along and feel supported and praised as they learn along with phonemic awareness, increasing their ability to decode and blend words, and basically, learning to read without feeling that they have to hide their inabilities. I ask them they have a choice of RAZ kids, Moby Max, and Lalilo and they say....Lalilo!
