Community Review for Lalilo
My Take
The ELA concepts taught within the Lalilo software are needed for students within all elementary grades, even more advanced students. Reinforcement and repetition of specific concepts helps build the "literacy muscle" of all students and is necessary in development in the elementary grades for academic success in later years. I do wish that the program had different design of presentation styles for upper elementary grade students.
How I Use It
I use Lalilo as a reward for positive behaviors in my classroom. I also use it to help with small group instruction and station rotations. As we rotate in our ELA groups Lalilo is the last station, and is often seen as a reward for students. It becomes an incentive for them to pay attention and complete assignments to be able to get to the Lalilo station to "play a game."
