Lalilo is such a great tool! The kids love to use it and I like that I can see which sounds and skills they have mastered. I like that they can hear the sounds properly in French. Parents like having an educational activity at home too.

My Take

I love Lalilo, because it is engaging for the kids, and they hear the proper pronunciation of letters and sounds, when I am unable to be one on one with them (i.e during centres, at home with non-Francophone parents). I like that I can tell parents that Lalilo tailors learning to their child's needs.

Today, a parent asked a question, and I was able to ask Lalilo chat - I got a response ASAP. Merci!

One thing that I think was new this year, and a bit annoying, was the placement test - it was so hard and many students (all new to Lalilo), became very frustrated/lost interest fast. Once I explained that it would adjust to their level, i was able to get them back on board. Could the test start off easier, and stop when the child gets a certain number of activities incorrect? So they don't experience such failure right off the bat?

How I Use It

I introduced this whole class at first. Now students log on on their own, as a reward for work completion, behaviour etc, and during centre time (Grade 1). Most recently, I sent home the parent log-in sheet, so that it can be done as an addition/alternative to homework already assigned.
