My Take

I have been using Kodable in my classroom since it first appeared in the Hour of Code. I like how the designers listen to the feedback of teachers who have used the program in real classrooms with real challenges to overcome. I think that the visuals are appealing to students and I have achieved great success with teaching some difficult concepts to all levels of learners using this program as a jumpstart platform to other programs.

How I Use It

I use Kodable as an introduction to computer programming and helping students work on their communicative and problem-solving skills. We begin each section with unplugged lessons either from the website or modified from website ideas. The unplugged is followed up with the digital practice levels and we complete the cycle by having students design activities to teach what they just learned to younger students.
