My Take

We have been using this product for 4 years with good success. It's engaging with the students and methodical. The interface isn't glitzy, which our teachers appreciate. It's created by the parent company Learning Without Tears; a handwriting program. KWT made positive changes this year to the admin side, which have been difficult to navigate, but will be beneficial over time.

How I Use It

I am the keyboarding administrator for a relatively small school; 125 elementary level students. We chose this product for individual practice.

Keyboarding Skills with Rigor!

We really love this program at our school. We are noticing the students are typing faster. They are able to do a lot of different skills with their mouse that beforehand was tough for this age. The students are learning great phonics skills while growing as typers. I do highly recommend this program if you are looking for a typing program.

Typing + Digital Citizenship + Academic Vocabulary = The Best Typing Program Out There!

I've used numerous other typing programs, and this is by-far the best. It builds in academic vocabulary including technology vocabulary. The program also utilizes two fingers while typing, forcing students to use home row. Even in the youngest grades, this builds muscle memory. The program also does an excellent job gamifying typing: students move along a "game board" as they progress and they also earn trophies and other badges for their hard work.
