Kahoot! is fun and engaging for media literacy!
Overall, I think this is a fun and engaging tool that gets students excited to apply what they have learned. I am sure that creating the quizzes yourself may take a bit of time and preparation, but there are many pre-created quizzes you can customize for your classroom. Overall, this is a great assessment tool and I look forward to using it more in the future.
How I Use It
I am fairly new to using Kahoot, but so far my students seem to really love it! Upon first delving into website, it appeared to be user-friendly and has a nice aesthetic. The children are able to easily quickly access it, so there is not much time wasted during instruction. The competition factor has created some excitement in the library. The great thing about Kahoot is that my students are able to get immediate feedback for each question. Another positive aspect of Kahoot is that it allows me to see what topics the students are strong and weak in so that I may go back and spend more time on those particular topics in which they are struggling. I would not center an entire lesson around this, but would either use it as an opener or an exit ticket at the end of the lesson.
