My Take

Student slove playing Kahoot. It is fun and motivating. I would use it for formative assessments. The time factor may stress some out and they may not do well under pressure. Also, only the top few scorers are shown on the screen. Some might feel defeated if they can not get a high score. Still, Kahoot is an awesome and fun way to review for a test or review concepts in a game like manner. Like I said, I would highly discourage using it for actual final assessments...only review.

How I Use It

We all love Game Shows! Kahoot is a web tool that lets you as a teacher feel like a Game Show host!

Create a teacher account and get started. It can be as easy as just searching for pre-made quizzes from others. Talk about easy! You might not even have to do any work! If you want to set up your own quiz, go for it. It is easy. You can insert images and video (YouTube) clips into questions. When you are ready your students will need a web connected device, go to a link, type in a code and they are off! The questions show up on the LCD screen in the classroom. The students have 4 choices on their devices. The faster they respond, the more points they get. YOu can always tell when someone is playing Kahoot as they is a lot of excited competition in the room.

Fun, energizing, and a great concept review for any content area and any grade.
