Kahoot--A great way to engage students

My Take
I really like the way Kahoot engages students. They are playing a game and are being rewarded for correct answers. They don't see it as a review, formative assessment, or quiz--students are having fun and competing for points. I use Socrative a lot and students were asking me if I would give Kahoot a try. I like Kahoot, but kids can get carried away with competing while completing an activity. Kahoot also gives the teacher downloadable reports of student answers. These reports can be used later to drive instruction.
How I Use It
Kahoot can be used as a formative assessment tool, a bell assignment, exit ticket, or review. Questions and quizzes can be entered ahead of time and students answer the questions in a fun, game like environment. Students compete against other students when answering questions and are given points for correct answers. If you don't want a competitive atmosphere then Kahoot is not for your classroom. I teach at the secondary level and my students love it. You can even add music to your Kahoot.
