My Take

Overall this is a very nice addition to Google Workspace It is integrated into Google Meets now which makes it easier to access. It is a whiteboard at heart and is not revolutionary but does bring that classroom experience to the students virtually with the added benefit of being able to work on the board simultaneously. I found the tool useful to stimulate further discussion. The easy integration of images makes the tool more fun and engaging for students.

How I Use It

I used Jamboard as an interactive tool for students to work in groups. I would keep the groups small as too many students adding to the whiteboard caused some lag and became confusing. When in small groups, students could either manipulate a Jamboard (dragging images, etc.) set up by the instructor or add to it with images/text/shapes/drawings. The first method takes a little more prep work but was still reasonable. The second method was usually easy for the students to add images, text, and shapes but drawing was more difficult for them as we lack touch-screen devices.
