My Take

I think it is a wonderful addition to any classroom. This tool supports students' whole well being, and introduces them to mindfulness as a tool to calm and focus themselves for times they need help doing so. Meditation has shown to improve focus in students, as well as improve their overall happiness. It is easy to use, and could be built upon as students embrace the idea and purpose of mindfulness.

How I Use It

I used this product in my teaching as a way to do a mindful, calming and focus exercise when the students come in from recess and/or lunch. It is a great way to get them to calm down and get back into mental and thoughtful activities. This app also works really well for high-stress students and some special needs students. The focus on breathing helps calm and focus students. Some students may take a few times to embrace the meditation if they've never done anything like it, but after becoming accustomed to it, most students will enjoy and even ask for this "mindful minute".
