Simple way to allow students to create digital portfolios
Community Review for Google Sites
My Take
I liked it because it showed the students how to create an online website, and it was free. It offered a free online website for students. They were able to learn certain techniques of web design such as embedding links and images. I didn't like it because I would have liked to go further into HTML and CSS, but the platform doesn't allow any code modification. Therefore, students couldn't progress further into web development.
How I Use It
I used this product to have my students create individual digital portfolios. They created projects in science using different platforms such as Thimble, Codesters, Google slides and docs. They then created pages and input their projects into each page. They were able to present their projects to the class. It worked because students could be creative in what the topic of their project was. It worked because it decreased the amount of paper collected and students had a body of work they could keep even after graduation.
