My Take

Our students live in the Google Drive world. Everything they create is stored, shared, and collaborated on from Drive. It plays perfectly with applications like Google Classroom and other LMS type tools. It is free to use and 100% web based so it is accessible anywhere students have web access. The only downside is the lack of internet in some homes as web access is required.

How I Use It

Google Drive has become the go-to tool for everything we do as we are a GAFE (Google Apps for Education) district. We no longer use Microsoft Office with students (and most staff). All student created content is made within Drive. It is free and easy to use

Students can create: Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Forms, Drawings, and shared resources...in addition to unlimited file storage. Anything they create/store in Drive can be easily shared with individuals, small or large groups, or anyone, anywhere! It is amazing! In addition to individual creation, all these files can be collaborated with in real time. No more emailing files and updating, and waiting to receive the latest version. Everything is live and updated with each keystroke. This has opened awesome collaboration projects with students in the same room, different rooms in the building, and different rooms in different countries! Being web based means that anyone can access it from anywhere (with the allowed permissions).
