My Take

Google Drive allows for collaboration in real time. Students can work together from home/school and access their work anywhere once online. It doesn't matter what type of computer/device you have or even software for it to work. Once a document is shared students & teachers can add comments, edits, etc. depending on settings chosen.

How I Use It

Works well with a SmartBoard to create class shared documents to extend learning from school to home and beyond. No more lost assignments. Real time edits allow for teacher student dialogue as the work progresses. No more crates to carry home of papers to be graded. Google Drive automatically saves so students' work is less likely to "disappear" and tracks changes so you can see the editing process.
