Community Review for Google Drive
My Take
First I used Google Docs, now Google Drive with our school's account. With a variety of access devices, including PC's, netbooks, and smartphones, we have been able to collaboratively edit lists, spreadsheets and documents. There can be lags in getting the edits to appear on the document owner's screen due to net lab, but in general this is not a hindrance to meeting our goals.
How I Use It
I use this in problem-based learning units for brainstorming, task assignment, and organization of knowledge and information. For most of my students it's a novel experience to be able to edit documents in a group setting with multiple inputs. Of course they love to play around with their new ability to affect other people's words, but that quickly passes and the results are quite valuable to the outcome of the project.
