Collaboration is Google Drive's forte.
Community Review for Google Drive
My Take
Google Drive is easily used by anyone who has worked with Microsoft Office products. Google Presentations lacks the bells and whistles of Power Point, but provides a good, basic presentation software. By far, the benefit of Google Drive is the ability to access documents from any computer through the Cloud and the ability to share and collaborate on Google Docs and Sites. Students/teachers must have a Google account in order to access Google Drive. An added benefit is that it is useable on most platforms.
How I Use It
I have students in 7th and 8th grade use Google Drive not only to save their own documents, but to collaborate on projects in both small and large groups. For one unit, the students are in small groups and create a collaborative Google Site with their research notes, videos, analysis of their research, citations, and combine these into an entire Site on their particular topic. The entire unit has become paperless thanks to Google Drive. By sharing their Site with me, their project is considered "turned in" and I can make comments and recommendations right online.
In addition, I am able to share links to documents and sites that I have created easily with teachers, students, and parents by placing a public link on our website.
