My Take
I believe this is a great tool for students. If all the students have google accounts they can create documents collaboratively. Teachers can also communicate and add real time feedback for writing assignments. However, I don't believe it eliminates the need for USB drives, but does allow the convenience of using the cloud to protect work. Looking at how l use Google Drive now, I'd like to extend this to the whole middle school curriculum.
How I Use It
I use Google Drive with my middle school technology classes. I create shared folders for students who already have a google account. I help them create or upload class assignments into their shared folder. It helps to practice basic skills, as well as eliminates paper waste for short typewritten assignments.
