Google Drive has made saving and turning in work a breeze
Community Review for Google Drive
My Take
I use Google Drive now instead of Microsoft Suite. Saving and turning in documents used to be a total nightmare. Now my students just log into their school accounts (our district has school accounts that are google accounts) and get to work.
How I Use It
I use it both for collaboration and individual work. My students work on documents, slideshow presentations, and spreadsheets. I usually incorporate their core curriculum for my assignments. So, for example, my students might make a slideshow on the country that they are studying for Geography Fair. I also do fun projects, like having students practice using formulas in a spreadsheet by having them pretend to go on a shopping spree and use a spreadsheet to total the amount spent and to calculate the tax. For collaboration, I create a Google Doc and share it with a group of students. They can simultaneously work on a document. For example, I have them work on a slideshow that is formatted to be a Jeopardy game. Each student has a category assigned to him/her and the student has to come up with questions and answers and complete the part of the slideshow that corresponds to the category.
