My Take
Google Drive is the Google apps answer to the Microsoft suite that many of us are so familiar with, with a couple of big differences: it's very easy to share and collaborate on work and it's all web based so it can be used anywhere and from almost any device.
How I Use It
I use Google Drive frequently in my classes. Students develop essays in Documents and share them with me. The comments features allow me to make digital comments that can be used by the student for revision. I can use the history feature to look at how the text changes over time and if big additions happen instantly, I have a hint that plagiarism might have occurred.
I also use Presentations for collaborative projects so students can work together even from home. We use Presentations to summarize information, to present findings on research, and to tell stories.
I like the fact that the tools are complex enough to do interesting things, but simple enough to learn easily.
