My Take
GoNoodle is one site I return to day after day for my class, and yet there is so much variety my students never get bored. It has proven to be a great support in classroom management, as well as physical and health education. As a teaching tool, specifically for classroom management, there isn't an easier, more effective one available. It is a valuable asset in my teaching toolkit.
How I Use It
I've used GoNoodle in my elementary classroom for two years. During that time I've used GoNoodle to provide brain breaks, as well as physical education, for my students. When we need a change of activity to energize or to calm and focus, GoNoodle provides short (1-4 minutes) video activities that my students can do even in small spaces. There are also indoor PE activities of longer duration (up to 20 minutes). There are a wide range of activities, including dance, structured physical activity, coordination development, strengthening, and yoga. Some activities include quick health lessons, too. It's super-easy to set up a class account. GoNoodle keeps track of the minutes played and changes the class avatar as milestones are reached. Avatars can be downloaded and printed, so your students can color their own copy. Other tokens are available for purchase for your class. The quality of the activities and engagement opportunities make GoNoodle a favorite of all of my students.
