Community Review for Global Oneness Project
My Take
Global Oneness Project is a great resource that provides multimedia rich resources for teaching and learning across all content areas. There are videos, stories, articles and photos that are tied to common themes and key ideas connected to a deeper worldview, building awareness and empowering change. The materials are provided and are aligned to standards. The resources are multidisciplinary, meaningful and incredibly relevant. They have everything from the Gamo Highlands of the African Rift Valley and sustainable farming to Clowning Around, which examines the contradictory views of clowns and their symbolism. Additionally, there is a kit for $30 that is designed for education and service.
How I Use It
There are lessons provided, but it might take some time to modify or reframe the lesson to meet your learning target. The resources are great for providing multiple resources or a text set on a similar theme or key idea. The videos, photos, stories and articles range in topic, but are all engaging and relevant. I love "A Thousands Suns" and the lesson that tells the story of the Gamo Highlands of the African Rift Valley. The lesson really asks students to explore, raise questions and think critically about our modern way of life. The resources were linked, available in PDF or in video that could be embedded if you wanted to pull it to your course site.
