My Take
Overall, I thought that Duolingo is a great tool for students of any age trying to learn a new language. I think it could be used in elementary schools but based on my experience using the website, it seems as if it would be easier for middle to high school students to use than elementary. I liked the use of pictures and audio to help learn words. The game like structure of the website helps it keep people engaged. I also really liked how you can put an amount of time you would spend a day using the website and the many different choices of languages that you can learn. Having all of these options help personalize the website to you and what you are looking to learn which I thought was very helpful.
How I Use It
Duolingo was a great resource for anyone trying to learn a new language. In a classroom, it could be used to either practice what the student learned in their foreign language class or learn a new language. In a school that may have cut foreign language out of the curriculum, Duolingo would be a great way to encourage students to learn other languages.
