Ideal tool for enrichment of Digital Citizenship Lessons!
Community Review for Digital Passport
My Take
Digital Passport is beyond easy for a teacher to implement. We always go through the first log-in experience as a class, learning how to create a safe and strong password. Students get confused at this first part, as they then think they are supposed to memorize and use this "practice" safe and strong password for future visits to Digital Passport. The other suggestion is to have a Digital Passport version for K-2nd grade, as you have every other grade covered: Digital Passport for 3-5, Digital Compass for middle school and Digital Bytes for Middle School.
How I Use It
I use this with my third grade students, in conjunction with Common Sense Media's lessons found in their Scope and Sequence section on their website. The students LOVE Digital Passport, and even my fourth and fifth grade students ask to use it the following year(s). Digital Passport is a perfect scaffolding tool, especially if you include Digital Citizenship in your curriculum each school year, as when students are ready for Digital Compass, they compare it to Digital Passport, and also LOVE it.
