My students, 2nd-4th graders, love using Comic Life as another publishing tool. It can be used as an assessment tool - let students show you what they've learned about a concept by creating a comic strip. This is another tool to meet those CCLS and allow students to use creativity and critical thinking skills.
How I Use It
We have used the app for iPads and the full program on computers, with success and enthusiasm for both! Second graders created illustrations in another program, converted them to a jpg, and used them in Comic Life. Each group of students showed a different aspect of Colonial Life. Special effects give the illustrations or photos used a period look. We printed the pages groups created and they had a class book. The comic can be exported as a PDF and published on a web site too!
