My Take
I love everything about what code.org has put out. It has inspired my students and have given them a sense of control. My students come from a high poverty area and giving them the tools to learn how to code gives them hope for the future.
How I Use It
I have had allmy students participate in Hour of Code activities and this year have all my students enrolled in Code Studio. What I love is that it is all individualized and runs at the student's pace. I have students that have moved through the courses quickly and have moved into other courses. I love that code.org has links to other coding websites and that the activities appeal to current cultural events (Star Wars, Frozen) and that there is a variety.

The best of the best for early coding!
Code.org is an incredible teaching tool. I love how accessible it is for both teachers and students, even those who are brand new to coding. The lessons are engaging, interactive, and designed to be fun, which helps keep students motivated. I also appreciate the wide range of resources and support for educators

beginner friendly good for practicing basic concepts
I think overall this is a relatively good tool to use to begin practicing basic concepts to learn coding. I don't think it is very good for very intermediate level concepts like learning functions or classes but it's very good for learning the basics like variables, loops, lists and so on. I like how there are multiple different types of game related concepts especially familiar ones like Minecraft it makes it more engaging for younger audiences. I do wish that some of the tasks and games would have better performance but I understand that can be very difficult to implement for a multifaceted web design like this. Overall I think it's really great and should definingly be tried to teach beginners
