My Take

Overall I think Class Dojo is a great tool to use in the classroom. It keeps students accountable for their actions, motivates them, and is engaging with the personalized monsters and sounds. I used Dojo as a reward where we set a weekly point goal. If students reached that point goal they got to pick from the prize bucket on Friday. Then we reset and started again on Monday. I also love that parents can view what happened during the day. It supports the home school connection.

How I Use It

I have used Class Dojo as a classroom management tool. Each student gets a monster that tracks their points. The teacher gets to pick what points give points, and their point value, as well as what behaviors take points. There are fun noises that go along with points. Dojo can also group students so they can earn points in groups or individual. Dojo also has some great lessons on growth mindset that really helped my students understand that their brain is a muscle. Lastly, you can communicate with parents using the messenger feature as well as parents can see what their child's behavior was like that day.
