My Take

Canvas is a great tool, but takes some time to learn. I like how easy it can be to navigate for students if the teacher has constructed the class in an intuitive way. Once learned, this tool is a wonderful content delivery system and assessment instrument. The range of quiz options is vast with multiple choice, fill in the blank, short answer, essay, and more options! Learning Canvas may be an uncomfortable process for some teachers who are new to using online tools with students, but it is worth the effort and many initially reluctant teachers are seeing the value and efficiency that is possible when using Canvas.

How I Use It

Canvas is a wonderful LMS that allows students to access course content from anywhere on any device. Teachers can assign interactive activities to assess for understanding and student can submit projects full of multimedia. This is a powerful tool that takes some learning to begin to use, but once the teacher understands how to organize content, it can be a wonderful way for students to access their content and share assignments. Canvas is great for online, blended, or flipped learning and can be a great place for teachers to organize content and allow students to access lessons outside of class. Learning to use this LMS is of great benefit for students and teachers and helps prepare them for college as this is the medium of content delivery for many college programs.
