My Take
If it was not for the upload your own images feature of Canva, I would not be able to recommend this product. That being said, you can use your own backgrounds, images, and designs that are saved on your drive already. Canva makes it easy to import and imbed them with in-app cropping and editing options. Canva has images and graphics that are free and paid, but that is what creative commons images are for.
How I Use It
I use canva for all my graphic design needs! Wheather I am creating an Ad. or web page design, I know that I can accomplish what I need with the easy to use simplicity of canva.

Versatile and Comprehensive
Canva is a great resource for teaching as it has greater functionality than google slides and allows for a higher degree of flexibility and accessibility. For example, the video functionality in Canva has access to an automatic captioning tool that can be edited and translated.

Overall a good tool to help teachers or students find creative ways to complete otherwise mundane tasks/lessons. Offers a wide range of abilities and would be hard to find a way in which in can't be useful.

Canva for Education is a powerful and versatile tool
Canva for Education is a powerful and versatile tool that empowers educators to create stunning visuals and engaging learning materials. It offers a user-friendly interface and a vast library of templates, making it easy to design everything.
The real difference between the normal canva and the educational one is what its gonna mostly be used for. As the name suggests educational canva will probably be geared to more students and teachers, offering educational aspects. For me, Canva's tools for creating accessible content is a great way to ensure that all students can participate in their creativity.
